Iconic songs that brought nostalgia and great memories!

After months of waiting, we finally got to enjoy Keane’s 20 Years of album Hopes and Fears at ACL Live at Moody Theater in Austin Texas with a wave of nostalgia and musical brilliance, celebrating the iconic album that shaped their career. The night began with a dynamic performance by British indie rock band Everything Everything, setting the stage perfectly for the emotional and powerful set by Keane. The venue was packed with fans, both old and new, eager to relive the magic of songs that have resonated deeply for two decades.

The energy in the air was palpable, as everyone, us included, knew they were in for an unforgettable evening. From the opening chords to the final encore, Keane proved why they remain one of the most beloved British rock bands of the 21st century.

EVERYTHING EVERYTHING

Everything Everything opened the night with an electrifying performance that instantly captivated the audience. Known for their complex, genre-blurring sound, they delivered a mix of experimental rock, synth-pop, and innovative beats. Frontman Jonathan Higgs’s high-energy stage presence and distinctive vocals carried the set, weaving through hits like “Wild Guess” and “Pizza Boy.” Their unique approach to live performance — blending intricate instrumentals with layered vocals — was a standout, and their quirky yet polished delivery added a fresh dynamic to the night.

Tracks like “End Of The Contender” had the crowd moving, while “Enter The Mirror” showcased their ability to merge deeper lyrical themes with upbeat tempos. The band’s performance was tight, energetic, and full of surprises, winning over not only their dedicated fans but also those eagerly awaiting Keane. Everything Everything’s modern and adventurous sound was the perfect contrast to the more classic anthems of the headlining act.

KEANE

When Keane took the stage, the crowd erupted in cheers, and the nostalgic journey through their seminal album Hopes and Fears began. From the opening notes of “Can’t Stop Now,” “Silenced By The Night,” and “Bend & Break” it was clear that this performance was going to be one for the books. Tom Chaplin’s vocals were as strong and emotive as ever, with the entire band with Tim Rice on Piano, Richard Hughes on drums and Jesse Quin on bass, sounding tight and polished.

The audience sang along passionately to hits like “Everybody’s Changing” and “This Is The Last Time,” every note hitting with the same emotional weight it carried 20 years ago. Chaplin took moments between songs to reflect on the band’s journey, expressing gratitude for their loyal fans who have been with them since the beginning. The lighting and stage design added to the magic of the night, complementing the ethereal quality of Keane’s sound.

With songs from almost every album they have recorded, the band effortlessly bridged the past and present, creating a timeless experience for all in attendance. But with songs “Crystal Ball,” and “Somewhere Only We Know,” the excitement inside the venue was electric, as fans sang every word in unison.

After a brief pause, the band returned to the stage to play four more songs, and for the grand finale, “Bedshaped” served as the climactic moment of the night!
