More than 30 years delivering great songs!
Counting Crows brought the nostalgia to the Majestic Theater in San Antonio, Texas, for their “Banshee Season Tour” alongside opening act Dashboard Confessional.
The anticipation was building up as the crowd was waiting for Dashboard Confessional to hit the stage at the Majestic Theater, some in line to purchase their merch t-shirts and others grabbing a drink in the meantime.
DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL
Finally, the lights dimmed and the drummer from Dashboard Confessional, Chris Kamrada, entered the stage, he performed an amazing solo to kick off the night, following with the rest of the band joining the stage. Throughout their show, a portion of the crowd raised their drinks with emphasis when they sang along their favorite lyrics. Chris Carrabba’s vocals led the band for each song while simultaneously playing guitar, Armon Jay as the lead guitarist, Scoot Schoenbeck on bass, and Kenny Bridges on guitar and keys.
They played songs from almost all of their albums, including “Don’t Wait”, “Belong”, “Again I Go Unnoticed” and “Hands Down” leaving the crowd ready for the main act of the night.
COUNTING CROWS
After a 20-minute break, and stage repositioning, Counting Crows went on stage all together at once. The fans immediately stood right up from their seats cheering them on as their screams of excitement echoed throughout the venue, all the way to the balcony level.
They opened with the song “Hard Candy” and even played some of their biggest hits “Accidentally In Love” and “Mr. Jones”. Providing a balance with performing two acoustic covers “Start Again” by Teenage Fanclub and “Big Yellow Taxi” by Joni Mitchell.
With this immense energy all throughout the night, it was easy for Counting Crows to have such an effortless connection with the crowd, especially when Adam Duritz, lead vocalist, made his way to the edge of the stage as the closest row was only three feet away.
The band from California delivered a big dose of good music probing that the success they had during the 90s is still current and they are still rocking today.
With songs full of emotion and catchy melodies, the show was definitely one to be remembered.
The night was concluded with “Holiday In Spain”, as no one was prepared to say goodbye to the band, but still sang in unison to the last lyric “Fly Away To Someone New”.
