An evening full of great songs with two amazing bands
What a night! We went to see Tears for Fears show at the Moody Center in Austin and we just have to say it was incredible!
The band was amazing, the crowd was electric, and the songs were timeless.
The iconic ‘80s band brought “The Tipping Point Tour Part II” to Texas together with an innumerable quantity of great memories we’ve lived with their songs.
COLD WAR KIDS
The opening act was Cold War Kids, who did a great job of warming up the audience with their catchy indie rock tunes. With fantastic songs such as “Love Is Mystical”, “Hang Me Up To Dry” and their classic “First”, the band from Long Beach, CA knows how to keep a good show going.
They played a total of 14 songs that kept the crowd entertained and ready for more!
TEARS FOR FEARS
It was a little after 9 PM when Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith together with a magnificent band jumped to the stage.
They kicked off their set with the beautiful song “No Small Thing”, followed by “The Tipping Point”, the name of their latest album and tour, and the worldwide hit “Everybody Wants To Rule The World”, we don’t need to explain how the crowd went with this song. Everyone was singing along to every word.
The band played a mix of old and new songs, from their debut album The Hurting to their latest release The Tipping Point. They sounded fantastic, and you could tell they were having fun on stage. They interacted with the audience a lot, cracking jokes, telling stories, and thanking the crowd for their support.
Tears For Fears rocked the stage for almost two hours, delivering one hit after another. They didn’t seem to get tired or bored, they just kept going and going.
But it was with some of their classics that the whole venue sang together in a surreal way, with songs such as “Mad World”, “Break It Down Again”, “Head Over Heals” and leaving the best for the end, “Shout”.
We can’t say enough good things about this show. It was a dream come true for many, us included, to see Tears for Fears live. They are truly one of the greatest bands of all time, and we’re so glad we got to witness their magic.
The band will continue the tour in 8 more cities, concluding on August 2nd in Los Angeles, CA.
