Women rocking out on stage!
What an incredible night we had last night at the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio with the amazing presence of 3 bands led by women. We are talking about The Warning from Monterrey, MX who are currently on the road as part of their Error World Tour 2023 and being supported by Plush from New York and Holy Wars from Los Angeles, CA.
For almost three hours, hundreds of fans enjoyed a high dose of distorted guitars, potent drum beats, and powerful voices.
Honestly, it was great to see how the whole crowd was connected with the bands singing along. From really young fans to older ones.
If you love hard rock and women who rock, you should definitely check out these bands!
We were there and here are some highlights of our night and photos of this show we hope you enjoy!
HOLY WARS
At 7:00 PM it was time for the first band to hit the stage, Holy Wars, a female-fronted metal band with a lot of energy and attitude. They played songs from their EP Mother Father and album Eat It Up, Spit It Out, such as “21st Century Bitch”, Get Mine”, “TV Dinner”, “My Drugs Are Digital”, and Little Godz” which sounded awesome.
Singer Kat Leon had a powerful voice and a charismatic presence, while guitarist Nicolas Perez shredded some impressive solos and Johnny Tuosto some powerful drum beats. They got the audience pumped up and ready for more.
PLUSH
Next up was Plush, a four-piece alternative rock band from New York. They played songs from their self-titled debut album such as “Champion”, “Athena”, and “Sober”. Also some covers like “Heaven’s On Fire” from KISS and “Barracuda” from Heart that sounded incredible. Their set concluded with their latest single “Left Behind”.
They had a raw and authentic sound, with catchy melodies and heavy riffs. Singer Moriah Formica possesses a powerful voice, and drummer Faith Powell was very impressive. Together with bassist Ashley Suppa and guitarist Bella Perron the band sounds solid as metal!
They had a lot of fans in the crowd who sang along to their songs.
THE WARNING
Finally, it was time for The Warning to take the stage. The band from Monterrey, MX consists of three sisters: Daniela on guitar and vocals, Paulina on drums and vocals, and Alejandra on bass and vocals. They started playing music when they were very young and gained fame on YouTube with their covers of rock classics.
They have since released three studio albums: XXI Century Blood (2017), Queen of the Murder Scene (2018) and Error (2022), which is the name of the tour, Error World Tour 2023.
The power of YouTube!
The group first came to the attention of the public in 2014 when they were between the ages of 9 and 14, they played Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” on YouTube and went viral among rock music fans and amassed more than 20 million views.
Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett took notice of the video and remarked, “The drummer kicks maximum ass” praising Paulina in particular. Years later, The Warning appeared on the Metallica tribute album The Metallica Blacklist, performing “Enter Sandman”, this time with singer Alessia Cara.
The Warning played a mix of songs from their discography, as well as the cover of Metallica, “Enter Sandman” which help them in the initial days of their career. They really rocked the house with their amazing talent. Daniela’s voice was powerful and expressive, running from side to side on stage, Paulina’s drumming was fast and furious, and Alejandra’s bass lines were solid and funky. They had a great chemistry and interaction with each other and with the audience.
The Warning put on an amazing show that fans will never forget. They are one of the best rock bands out there right now, bringing rock music back to the music scene and we can’t wait to see the achievements they will definitely conquer.
If you ever get a chance to see them live, don’t miss it. You won’t regret it.
