More than 60 years rocking!
We witnessed a really cool concert last night at the Aztec Theatre in San Antonio, TX!
There are so many songs we grew up listening everywhere, radio, tv commercials, movies, etc. But, when you get to see the creators of those classic songs playing live in front of you, the perspective really changes.
And that’s exactly what happened last night! Straight from the UK, we were able to enjoy the legendary band The Zombies, who brought the “Life Is A Merry Go Round” tour. And together with singer AJ Smith, it was a perfect way to spend a Friday night in the Alamo City!
AJ SMITH
The night started with Denver native Andrew J. Smith, professionally known as AJ Smith who was the one in charge to warm things up at the Aztec Theatre.
In an impressive way, AJ Smith jumped from playing the bass, to the guitar, keyboard, and then the violin while playing his songs full with a pop and happy vibe.
Together with guest drummer Dru Marshall, the band performed some of the songs he has been promoting, including the newest song already streaming “We All Want Love“
THE ZOMBIES
It was 9:00 pm when the legendary band came out on stage in the middle of a standing ovation from the hundreds of fans who gathered to see The Zombies perform the songs that have been part of the lives of so many!
Their show started with songs “Moving On“, “I Want You Back Again“, and “I Love You“, which was a preamble of what was coming ahead, a tour through their full discography from the 60s, 70s up to songs of their upcoming album, Different Game set for release on March 31.
With the same original characteristic style, the band continued with songs “Different Game”, the name of the new album, “You Could Be My Love“, “Tell Her No“
Rod Argent, singer and keyboard player explained that this new album has the same vibe and energy from their first albums. “vintage bands tend to record slower albums as they grow up, but we wanted to keep the same energy as before“
But of course, the audience was excited to hear the songs that put the band on the top all over the world, “Time Of The Season”, “She’s Not There” and to finish a great evening, “The Way I Feel Inside”.
